Important changes to the MCA OOW  Unlimited Oral Exam Starting Spring 2023

From Spring 2023 the MCA OOW deck oral examination will consist of the following elements:

Part A: Online computer based proctored examination, and

Part B: Online face-to-face oral examination

The Part A: Online computer-based proctored examination will be an integral part of the assessment for the attainment of the MCA OOW Unlimited deck Certificate of Competency (CoC). All OOW unlimited deck candidates with first attempt Notice of Eligibility (NoE) issued from end of April 2023 and all OOW unlimited deck candidates (including resits) with NoE issued from 1st June 2023 must successfully complete Part A before being able to book the Part B of the examination.

The purpose of the Part A: Online computer based proctored examination is to assess appropriate topics of the oral examination syllabus and to give both the candidate and examiner confidence that the candidate has the knowledge required to undertake the Part B: Online face-to-face oral examination. Questions in both parts of the examination may be drawn from any part of the syllabus contained in MIN 653 – Amendment 1.

Except for candidates for the OOW Unlimited deck examination, no other candidates will currently be required to undertake a Part A: Online computer based proctored examination. It is anticipated that in the future this system may be applied to other types of oral examination.
